Mountain Top Pine Trees

Here's my interpretation of my last challenge photo. I can't believe we only have three weeks left of SketchingEveryday 2010. Between sketching, hosing horses, watering outside plants and filling hummingbird feeders, the summer has really flown by. Since there has not been much interest, this will be my last sketching challenge photo. I hope someone will give it a try.

Rocky Mountain Stream Drawing Completed

Here's a finish wash on yesterday's pencil sketch and our sketching challenge photo for this week. I hope a few of you will give it a try! I will post my interpretation of last week's ostrich challenge photo tomorrow. Happy Father's Day to all you dads!

Rushing Mountain Stream

I spent a good part of the day going through some photos of Colorado that I took last July, so I decided to draw from one of my favorites for you tonight. Here's the first two steps of my sketching system done in pencil. I'll add the wash tomorrow. I'm thinking of posting a Colorado shot for our next challenge. Anybody interested?

Home Again

I'm posting yesterday's sketch (steps 1 + 2) tonight as well as today's finish on my Gothic Mountain drawing.



It's good to be home, but I'm missing the mountains again already. Look for the new challenge drawing tomorrow with my sketch of last week's photo.

Colorado Moose

Here's today's sketch from Gunnison, Colorado. I drew it from a photo I took in Rocky Mountain National Park on Sunday.

SOMEWHERE IN THE ROCKIES

I sketched this scene today using reference from two different Colorado photos I took last month. I didn't copy either picture, merely used them for inspiration, while adding a healthy heaping helping of Artistic License to the mix.

Plane Drawing

This image is from my sketchbook. I did this drawing on the plane on my way to Crested Butte, CO last week. Sketching really made the time "FLY BY"! This is a native Rocky Mountain Wildflower, "Serviceberry Flowers".

SEA LEVEL SICKNESS

I've had "Altitude Sickness" before, but didn't get it this time when I traveled to Colorado's high elevation. I just got back home early this morning and have had a case of "Sea Level Sickness" ever since. Missing the mountains, today I finished this pencil sketch I posted here on Saturday.
