I'm still working on Peonies. This is a value sketch for the large painting commission I'm doing. A value drawing is a valuable aid in the composition of paintings. No matter what medium or technique I use, I always try to use a full range of values. What I'm referring to here is the tone or the lightness / darkness of a color.
