Drawing from My Computer

Today I spent most of the day going through and post processing some photos. A couple of weeks ago, I did a shoot of a lovely lady, Tracy. Since I had her pictures up on my screen, I decided to sketch one of them. I work in Photoshop and it's easy to put guide lines down on the photo. I also put the same grid lines (rule of thirds) on my paper in scale to the original. Here is my pencil sketch propped up against my computer screen for you to see.

  1. Hello Sandy,
Drawing from the computer screen - that's something I haven't been doing before but I will try it. Is there an advantage over drawing from a print?

  2. The advantage is it is more easily scaled and we are not wasting paper or printer ink. I also like looking at my reference straight on instead of looking down at it. Thanks for your question, Ulla.
